Why is it that the greatest celebrations bring the greatest tension in families?

I think some of it has to do with expectations that can sometimes be unrealistic. We have allowed the culture to put an ideal inside of our heads that may not be attainable and have told ourselves “If the holiday doesn’t look like this it’s not good.”
