100_3610“So all night long the storm roared on:
The morning broke without a sun;
In tiny spherule traced with lines
Of Nature’s geometric signs,
In starry flake, and pellicle,
All day the hoary meteor fell;
And, when the second morning shone,
We looked upon a world unknown,
On nothing we could call our own.
Around the glistening wonder bent
The blue walls of the firmament,
No cloud above, no earth below,—
A universe of sky and snow!”
― John Greenleaf WhittierComplete poetical works

I have heard we have another foot of white coming on Monday.  A universe of sky and snow indeed!

      • Pastor J, my husband went out and filled the feeders 3 times in one day. We decided the deer were watching for him, because within 5 minutes they were back, cleaning us out again! We finally had to stop filling all but the high hanging ones that the deer can’t reach. We have had as many as 12 deer in the lawn all at one time this year. Last year we had 18 at once, one afternoon.
