Hi Pastor J , I have always loved tree lined roads and yes I look forward to the future with Joy but appreciate what I have learnt in the past and I have also sought to resolve what was needed and to plan ahead both according to God’s guidelines, as many others do, who Love The Lord.
I have been wanting to share some questions with you, Pastor J but felt with you having a break it would be better when you had caught up, they are not all that I have but like the rest they are worth pondering on, I have shared them with a few others and their answers were informative. They are based on something I often hear which is…. ” We will sin till we die but it’s ok because we are forgiven even if not said some believe this.
It’s your choice Pastor J if you answer these questions but thanks anyway for listening, I respect this very much in people, it shows a humble spirit, but regardless of affirmation, God’s Truth continues to motivate and uplift but Jesus was ignored and hated and He tells us will we be too when we share His Truth, many have itching ears.
1. If we are to reckon ourselves dead to sin, should we continue saying that we can and do sin when we are in Christ Jesus? ( Romans 6:11) as a man thinks in his heart, so he does! and God tells us no temptation will be greater than we can bear……..
2. If God asks us to be perfect as He is but not what the world thinks, do you think it’s impossible and if so does this mean that what He asks of us is not really attainable ? ( Matthew 5:48 ) (1 John 4:17-19 )
3. If it is our Sin Nature that causes us to sin by polluting our spirit and we put it to death by The Spirit, ( Romans 8:13 ) ( Galatians5 ) does this mean we can no longer sin as the Scriptures tell us in (1John3:9)
4. God asks us to walk as Jesus walked (1 John 2:4-6 ) and He walked in Love without sinning and when we are Born again of God’s seed or Nature, (1John3:9) and Jesus lives in us ? and He dose not choose to sin, so do we? (1Corinthians 2:16 )
5. If we ask for God’s wisdom as He asks us to do, ( Proverbs 4:7 ) because in the flesh we all lack it, we were not born with it, so we are to seek after it, do we then doubt that we or others have received it and if we do, are we saying that God does not do what He says and so we are calling Him a liar ?(James 1: 4-6)
Thank you Pastor J, my answer is I aim to be perfected in Love (1 John 4:17-19 )
Good afternoon Anne. I would love to answer these questions but I think I should take one at a time in a post a piece. Would you mind if I do this? Perhaps it will become more than one post a piece as we open a discussion of the subjects mentioned. Is that OK?
This is your Blog Pastor J and I’m under your authority, you choose and I will join in but I would like to share how these questions and the others came about, it does have a lot of detail or wordage but it will help you understand my focus.
After coming to real heart repentance but because of so much conflicting teaching I felt very unsure about what was Truth and so had doubts. One day as I was reading the Scriptures a verse touched my heart, Mark 9:24 some Christians call this a Rhema Scripture, it’s a Greek word, it said… that a man’s asked Jesus to heal his son, Jesus asked him do you believe, the man answered yes I believe but please help my unbelief and so I also asked Jesus to help my unbelief with great heart conviction that I needed His help.
Not long after this, realizing I was very confused because of the conflicting teaching in the Churches and by Theologians and Evangelists even those who had a high profile and yes they all claimed what they believed was True but what some taught was different which means some of them were trusting in their own worldly understanding or what they had been taught instead of God’s Truth.
I knew this to be True because The Holy Spirit does not say one thing to one person and something different to someone else when it contradicts and as I knew we are not to agree to disagree but to take our difference to God and He will show us who is in error because we are to have the same focus and to be of one mind and purpose, it confused me greatly because how could they all have the mind of Christ and also be in conflict which was shown by their division our God is a God of Unity and Truth.
I prayed to God earnestly for His help again and He gave me another Rhema Scripture James1:5-8 I asked in Trust and Faith knowing I needed God’s wisdom 100% and I have no doubts that I have received it and that my heart is growing in knowledge and insight and will continue to do so as He perfects me in His Love to conform me to the image of His Son.
What God has shared with me He has confirmed in His written word by His Living Word but as I said before I’m still learning but I know without a doubt what God has already shown me is His Truth and I don’t doubt it …. Jesus tells us we don’t have because we don’t ask with Faith believing what He says He will do and sadly I found this is very True with many.
About 4 years ago God lead me to an understanding of Freedom in Christ Jesus through reading (1John 3:1-11) I had never heard or read about it in all the time I have been attending Churches which is over 30 years and still hadn’t up till 4 years ago, I was always lead to believe you sin till you die but your forgiven, yet my heart told me differently. I have been given quiet a few Scriptures from the Lord to confirm the answers to the questions I gave you and the other ones too.
Thanks for listening -Christian Love from us both – Anne
Thank you Pastor J, I will wait on you but I did make a mistake with time, it was over 5 years ago that I asked for and received God’s wisdom in Christ Jesus, I remember to thank Him often for it … we do indeed have an Awesome God, just thinking about Him gives me deep inner Joy and I can’t help but to sing and praise Him, which once again lifts my Spirits and yes I raise my hands to Him in Awe…How GREAT is Our GOD!!!.
I will be in touch, I have a Doctors appointment to keep – Christian Love from us both – Anne
